Service Description

Course Overview How does an executive choose the best data strategy for your company when bombarded with the latest trends in technology: business intelligence (BI), business analytics (BA), data analytics (DA), big data, and machine learning? The course breaks down each technology with respect to the types of data-driven decisions that are possible so an effective data strategy can be developed to transform your business. What You Will Learn? In this certificate program, you will: 1) Choose the most appropriate technology for a specific business data situation. 2) Develop an analytics strategy to address a business data question. Blended Format: Self-paced + Virtual + In-Person 1) Weekly virtual instructor-led training (VILT) - Each week your instructor will lead 1.5 hours of live, virtual interaction with you and your classmates via video conference. 2) Weekly self-paced learning - Each week you will spend 1-2 hours of self-paced learning in our learning platform (e.g., reading, watching, and reviewing materials and working on projects). 3) In-person networking conference - The program will culminate in an in-person, weekend-long, networking conference at an onsite location in HCMC, where you get to meet your instructor and classmates in person – provided international travel is allowed. Who Should Enroll? Executives of small to medium businesses who make decisions about data strategy. MP gives admission preference to senior management teams composed of four to eight individuals. Attendance by multiple company representatives will foster teamwork and amplify the program's impact on your organization. Instructor Bio Dr. Nelson King has both professional and academic experience in deploying information technology to take advantage of business data. In the 1990s, he worked in an information technology planning office for a large engineering firm to develop their knowledge management architecture. He taught information systems in a business school and was one of the first in the world to teach social media analytics. As co-editor-in-chief of Health Systems journal, he focuses on healthcare information technology. He was recently appointed the Dean of the School of Innovation and Management. Dr. King has a PhD in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Southern California.
